SAI attracts industry star to top performing team

Sydney, Australia, 21 November 2006. SAI Global Limited (ASX: SAI) has announced the latest addition to its world leading team, Duncan Lilley, to head up its international AUD$70 million flagship Assurance Services division.

Mr Lilley, who will report to Chief Operating Officer Tony Scotton, joins SAI having spent the last five years successfully building the Asian business of the national interest, British government backed, British Standards Institution and three years in their corporate centre in London.

According to Mr Lilley: “I am delighted to be joining SAI as this exciting stage in its global growth, it has proven itself a true international contender in the conformity assessment market and I look forward to helping to take it to the next stage in its development.”

“SAI’s commercial footing, that sits outside the confines of a not-for-profit national interest structure, allows it to compete more effectively with international giants such as the Swiss listed SGS, the London listed ITS and France’s Bureau Veritas in the effort to secure global clients and build audit bases in all major markets,” said Mr Lilley.

“SAI has world-leading brands in its “five ticks” StandardsMark and EFSIS and, since listing, has outperformed the industry in terms of relative growth. We are seen as a market leader in all areas of our operations. I am excited to be joining a world-leading commercially focussed operation.”

As head of the Assurance Services division Mr Lilley will be responsible for growing the business globally with an initial focus building SAI’s client base in key markets including China, India, Japan, South America and Eastern Europe.

On the appointment, the Chief Executive of SAI Global Limited, Mr Ross Wraight, said: “This is the fifth global appointment SAI has made since listing on the ASX in 2003 and comes following a record period for the company in which it made a number of acquisitions and won a major UK trade and investment accolade.”

“SAI is committed to getting the best talent through acquisition and the open market to help ensure its clients continue to receive the world leading solutions they need,” said Mr Wraight.

Since listing, Geoff Richardson (Chief Financial Officer), Andrew Jones, (General Manager Human Resources), and Brett Lenthall, (Group Chief Information Officer) have been recruited, all with broad experience in international listed companies. Through acquisitions we have acquired the services of Terry Hancock (Head of Compliance Services) and David Middleton (Head of Marketing and Professional Services).

“Mr Lilley’s appointment comes following an international search by recruitment firm Korn Ferry and we will soon start the process of recruiting for a global head of publishing,” said Mr Wraight.
Mr Lilley has held senior roles with Unisys, Kellogg Brown & Root and the British Standards Institution. For further information regarding this announcement please visit http://www.saiglobal.com.
